Pit Pals is committed to rescuing and rehabilitating Pitbulls and other power breeds, including but not limited to, Bull Terriers and Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
Pit Pals is dedicated to educating the public on how to treat and love animals in general while focusing on Pitbulls and educating the public on how to deal with the breed properly and to show the public, including kids, that dogs are sentient beings, and not someone’s property to do with as they please. Our education plan will include the necessity to sterilise your animal and will work with our supporters and fundraising team to raise money to assist those families who do not have the funds to sterilise their dogs. We believe sterilisation will lead to less over population and is extremely important. We will also educate potential dog owners the importance of not supporting “backyard” breeders and to support local welfares to ensure the animals we have rescued have an opportunity to be given a new home.
We are a pro quality of life shelter who is dedicated to the physical and mental state of an animal. We are dedicated to assisting the public where necessary to help train them along with and their dog to try and reduce the need of animal surrendering and thus adding to the overflowing shelters.
Pit Pals is a rescue organization, we are here for the rescues who, without us, would have no one and nowhere to go. A place to call home temporarily while they heal. As is the case with this gorgeous little being who we've called ELIANA.
Eliana wandered into a garden of a lady, mangy with major skin inflation, wound on her face and totally dehydrated! The kind lady phoned AACL, Bellville, who immediately sent an inspector out. To say he and all the staff at AACL totally fell in love with her would be the understatement of the year, those soft eyes and her loving nature simply bowled them over and they knew she needed a second chance at a better life and called us. Our hearts skipped a beat and we just knew she was going to be part of the Pit Pals family. This is rescue!
Unfortunately, we cannot take in any rehomings, we understand that you want the best for your dog as he is an amazing boy/girl but so does everyone else. So, unless (of course) it's a dog adopted from us, who for whatever reason has to come back, our responsibility will always be to them.
The sheer number of Pit bulls needing to be rehomed is frightening, the number of emails, inbox messages, WhatsApp messages and calls we receive daily is heart breaking, but we are a rescue organization and that's why we are here, to be a safe haven for rescues who are broken and never known a kind hand or been shown much love. These are your pets, a member of your family... please try to find a way to keep them, they have only ever been true and loyal to you.
If you love animals and would like to make a difference in the lives of the many dogs Pit Pals rescues and cares for, then consider becoming a volunteer.
